Assist in supervising front end employees by assigning duties, communicating goals, providing feedback and follow-up, and monitoring performance. Maintain current knowledge of Gristedes Foods office and cash control procedures and policies relating to cash reports, register checkups, deposits, and checks, and recording of overages/shortages. Provide products and services that meet the requirements of customers at all times, including using proper phone etiquette, answering customers'' questions, ensuring customers receive satisfactory service, addressing customer concerns/comments, and resolving customer issues. Follow and ensure adherence to all store rules and company policies. Maintain company records and figures, and assist in maintaining adequate security to control cash, shrink, and dishonesty. Perform and fulfill all roles within department as needed to fill in for associates or assist others during busy times, such as providing register support and helping to resolve escalated customer service complaints related to register transactions.
High School diploma / G.E.D. equivalent OR 1 year related work experience.
Must have experience as a general clerk or equivalent experience in a related job.
1 year supervisory/managerial experience preferred but not required.
Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts as required (day, evening, weekend, holiday).
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Must be authorized or have the ability to obtain authorization to work in the United States.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to correctly add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
