Professional Community Management of CA, Inc. (PCM) is seeking a Full TimeBookkeeper to join our growing team. P repares monthly financial statements and process banking related items such as investments and fund transfers for association clients. Reports to Assistant Controller, work involves regular contact with community managers, Board members, Banking institutions, independent auditors and other departments within accounting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Prepare, analyze, and review monthly accrual based financial statements pursuant to established schedules. · Prepare monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts. · Prepare and post manual journal entries with supporting documentation. · Maintain and update monthly schedules to support balance sheet accounts such as pre-paid insurance, interest receivable, pre-paid expenses, refundable deposits etc. · Prepare written variance analysis of financials for general ledger accounts with material variances. · Process investment instructions, including fund transfers, and monitor maturities for all investments. · Attendance at homeowner’s association meetings as requested. · Box accounting files for storage at fiscal year end. The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work of different assignment positions. NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · Assist with other jobs and other duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS: · 3 plus years experience with Associates degree, or higher, in accounting and/or commensurate experience. · Experience in an automated accounting environment. · Ability to use a PC keyboard and ten key calculator by touch. · Ability to apply the principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting, financial records, and transactions. · Ability to use Excel, WordPerfect, Outlook and AS400 accounting programs; · Ability to compile and analyze financial reports. · Ability to communicate both orally and through written reports in a professional manner. · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. · DMV printout and current proof of automobile insurance.
