Job Descrption ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS " Applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain the company's general accounting records and systems. " Compiles and prepares data for journal entries and financial statements. Analyzes information for statements and reports and assists with preparation. " Accounts receivable: " Collect agency-budgeted monthly payments due from clients via written notification of payment due and/or documented phone call to insured for payment due.

" Collect cash, direct deposit and checks " Responsibility for intake of all checks, journal entry, deposit agency checks, direct bill commission checks and agency bill/transfer commission checks " Accounts payable " Review and pay vendor bills, company statements - making sure for its correctness in issued policy premiums, individual policies/policies that require 1/3 deposit, finance companies, etc. " Reconciliation of all funds between Applied Systems Software (TAM) and bank statements " Interaction with underwriters regarding processing client applications expeditiously and ensuring that underwriter cancels policy for non-payment of premium to agency for the monthly budgeted payment due agency. " Payroll: employee attendance, payroll calculations and payroll reports. " Consistently render exceptional customer service, internally and externally SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS " Input commercial direct bill invoices when policy received and requested by commercial lines underwriter.

" Assists in preparation of various monthly and quarterly financial information reports on a timely basis. " Provide other areas of activity within the Accounting Department as assigned by supervisor. JOB REQUIREMENTS " Excellent analytical, problem resolution, organizational and decision-making skills. " Ability to work and effectively communicate with all staff " Thorough knowledge of operating policy and procedure " Knowledge of state/federal laws and regulations as they pertain to accounting and insurance " Knowledge of all applicable data systems " Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines " Excellent managerial and supervisory skills " Excellent written and verbal communications skills MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: College degree preferred Experience: Three (3) years, insurance agency w/Applied Systems Software (TAM) is preferred.

EQUIPMENT UTILIZED Computer, telephone, copier, calculator, fax. Software use is Applied Systems (TAM). JOB SPECIFICATIONS Mental Complexity: Exercises a moderate degree of initiative and judgment when making routine decisions. Incumbent is subject to little or no supervision and direction.
