The Branch Manager is responsible for all operations associated with our Mobile Branch that will serve members and potential members at various select employer groups, Stanford and Palo Alto Community events. The Branch Manager is responsible for the daily operations, branch sales, member service, security and safety of their mobile branch. The Branch Manager is proficient in the responsibilities below performing as a team leader with their personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operational Oversight:

Not only sets the example but also assists employees in providing high quality service to members.

Is responsible for serving as a source of product knowledge, Credit Union operating procedures and job family knowledge, in order to perform backup duties for Branch positions, and to provide information to staff.

Is responsible for updating and maintaining the operations manual as it pertains to branch operations and its processes.

Is responsible for transporting ones self between SFCU offices.

Is responsible for the preparation of documents and reports and for participation in management team activities.

Works closely with the supervisor to keep the mobile branch in the field, staffed and highly visible.

Risk and Security Management:

Ensures the Mobile Branch is set up in a secure location and secured upon leaving for the evening.

Directs and coordinates activities to implement institution's policies, procedures, and practices concerning branch operations.

Available to become a notary and a medallion signature guarantee holder with training provided by the credit union.

Is the safety officer to ensure safety and security information is being communicated to assigned staff. Unlike other departments of the credit union this mobile facility and you are required to be able to not only drive this vehicle but to provide set up and tear down of it. You will also be responsible for insuring anyone who drives it is licensed and all drivers must obey California driving laws. You will immediately report any maintenance needs to facilities.

Is responsible for conducting quarterly emergency response drills and robbery training for their staff.

Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.

Strategic and Developmental:

Directs staffing, training, coaching, and Employee Performance Plans to develop and control the branch's sales program.

Is responsible for the development and accomplishment of an annual operating plan and budget results which is consistent with the overall strategic plan of the Credit Union.

Is responsible for the direction and formation of the service culture for the staff focusing on cross-selling products and services that would best suit members’ financial needs and to create or improve retention program initiative.

Works with the training department to ensure that each employee has an accurate individualized training program for the year.

Develops and implements strategic sales plans for the Branches employees.

Prepares periodic reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of member education and relationship management.

Is responsible for individual Branch marketing support.

Is responsible for meeting with member business owners who hold accounts at their particular branch on a regular basis.

Is responsible to employ, train, schedule, support, counsel, motivate, evaluate and retrain Branch lending staff.

Is responsible for working on various project teams, representing branch operations.


Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that the employee gets along with members, vendors, co-workers, and management.

Supervises a total of 1-2 employees in the Mobile Branch Office, at times when the mobile branch is not deployed this manager will be based out of the Pampas Lane office. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be willing to become Notary, Medallion and Signature Guarantee
May be required to get an enhanced driver’s license to drive the mobile branch

Must have personal computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 – 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to drive the SFCU mobile branch (22’ to 39’) from location to location, anchor it and set up the stairs and awnings.

This position is for a mobile branch and the employee filling this position should be flexible with their work schedule. This position will likely work many weekends each month and have nontraditional branch hours.
