Position Summary

Manages the loan processing production, quality, and day-to-day operations of the branch; monitors and maintains daily file distribution to ensures proper turn times are met; manages the loan processing staff and addresses any problems or issues that arise; handles any branch specific loan issues/problems or concerns; acts in the primary loan escalation role for the branch; and applies management focus and discipline, builds relationships, demonstrates sound judgment, acts with speed, and displays leadership and professionalism and integrity.

Essential Duties

Manages the branch staff and activities involved in loan production to ensure loans meet approval criteria in accordance with loan and investor standards and oversees the daily operations of the branch; delegates work assignments; interviews for open positions; administers coaching, counseling and discipline; processes time cards; sets performance plans to achieve branch goals; and resolves personnel related issues.

Acts as a liason between corporate branch processing, underwriting, compliance, closing, and delivery.

Provides resources for loan processors and other production personnel for questions, programs, policies and procedures to include providing assistance to team members, upper management, branch managers, and loan officers.

Holds monthly meetings to review policy changes, branch performance, and audit trends; performs annual branch staff reviews; and maintains personnel policies and procedures as directed by Human Resources Department.

Approves and signs-off on underwriting conditions for corporate branch as needed.

Disseminates pertinent programe and guideline information to branch staff and facilitates training for specialty programs.

Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly productivity; pipelines and suspense reports; and distributes accordingly to maintain clean pipelines and saleable loans.

Reviews suspense conditions; suspenses for shipping for branch loans; and precloses QC trends with staff to improve laon quality.

Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Must have an Associate’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field, or equivalent related experience.

Must have more than seven (7) years experience in mortgage processing and underwriting, which includes at least three (3) years supervisory and training experience.

Must have advanced knowledge of loan processing and closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology and automated processing systems.

Must have general knowledge of FNMA and Freddie MAC guidelines and knowledge of VA and FHA essential.

Must have thorough knowledge of all investor guidelines, and the company's automated systems.

Must have the ability to interpret all investor guidelines to make a sound business decision.

Must be an effective communicator able to discuss issues/problems with internal and external business partners to resolve loan processing issues/problems.

Must use strong ability to lead and manage the loan processors within the department to meet both turn time and quality requirements. Must have a proven ability to recruit and retain skilled loan processors

Must be able to maintain a positive attitude at all times with the ability to motivate and encourage the loan processors to meet their production goals.

Must have the ability to work in a fast paced production environment.

Must used strong analytical skills and ability to make sound business decisions.

Must use well developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Must have advanced knowledge of credit policies and approval processes.

State Licensing is required by some states.

Must be able to lift and carry up 10-20 lbs of other office materials and supplies.

Must be able to travel locally, state-wide, and nationally.
