Summary:
The Brand works with the Category Manager(s) to assisting growing the sales and profitability of a specific category of products in the Metagenics product line. The Brand Manager assists in in creating, coordinating and executing the strategies and tactics for product development, marketing and sales of the products in the Category. This position is involved in a broad range of marketing activities including market research, market analysis, planning, scheduling, budgeting, product development, advertising, sales support, PR and communications activities for the Category. The Brand Manager will be responsible for specific project responsibilities and products within the Category, under the direction of the Category Manager(s) and VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities:
•Assist in developing the strategy for the Category in support of the corporate strategic objectives and marketing strategy.
•Assist in developing the appropriate tactical plans necessary to execute the Category strategy.
•Assume total responsibility for the management of specific projects and products in the Category, including managing market research, marketing analysis, planning, positioning, budgeting, product development, collateral development, advertising, PR, product training.
•Work with Category Manager to conduct market research on the Category to determine trends, opportunities, create product positioning and pricing, create forecasts, understand the life cycle of the products in the category and develop marketing programs.
•Work with the sales force to develop competitive product analysis, materials, strategies and marketing programs to help combat the competition.
•Work with Category Manager and oversee specific products to plan, measure and manage the overall advertising, PR, communications and collateral literature production for the Category.
•Work with Category Manager to assume budgeting responsibilities for the various marketing areas relative to the categories involved to ensure that overall profitability requirements are met.
•Work with the Category Manager and R&D to assume the responsibility for the creation of new products in the Category, to stay ahead of the competition and provide the customer with the best in health care nutrition.
•Collaborate with R&D and to offer marketing guidance for product development and product improvements for the products in the Category.
•Execute the marketing plans as assigned efficiently; on time and coordinated with new product development, so as to optimize sales of all products and services.

Accountability:
•Sales growth of specific products with the Category to meet annual sales objectives
•Budgeting for specific projects and productswithin the Category to meet annual objectives. Obtain and maintain an understanding of Metagenics and its products, the competitors and the respective customers and markets so as to thoroughly understand product development and pricing and positioning
•Assure that all marketing and advertising materials for the Category are in compliance with FDA and FTC regulations. This requires good communication and cooperation with the legal department.

Education:
Experience/Training/Education:
•MBA in Marketing or equivalent experience
•3-5 years previous product management marketing experience, preferably involving health care products
•Training or experience in managing budgets
•Project management
•Basic understanding of product development process
•Understanding of positioning and pricing
•Experience with graphic design, copy writing, advertising, PR, communication, planning and literature production
•Highly organized

Skills/Abilities:
•Must have good motivational, communication and presentation skills
•Must have strong analytical skills
•Must have good writing skills
•To be a “quick study”, able to understand new concepts and product areas quickly and have the affinity to read and understand medically-based information.
