Manage Breath Lab Instrument Upgrade Program, to include: evidence maintenance of all records, inventory and maintain instruments; maintain computerized database of inventory data; oversee the placement of equipment into local law enforcement agencies. Also supervises the activities of some 250 Type II Supervisors in the field. (Law enforcement officers certified by MSC & MO DOH to maintain and operate the state’s breath testing units statewide.)
Oversee operation of reassigned or loaner instruments, to include: ensure placement of evidentiary instruments to locations within Missouri, track and document the chain of custody of each instrument; ensure security of legal files for each evidentiary instrument; supervise the lab’s state-of-the-art Breath Alcohol Testing ( BAT ) Van; maintain expert witness status in the Missouri Court’s System, and provide expert testimony regarding BAT testing and training in the state.
Assist with repairs and maintenance of state owned/local owned breath instruments, to include: maintain knowledge of proper training techniques; assist with adjustments and repairs of instruments serviced, upgraded, and re-issued to various law enforcement agencies; participate in required certification courses to maintain local and state certification requirements.
Co teach in the instructional phase of lab courses related to breath instruments.

Bachelor’s degree is preferred in the following field(s) of study: Criminal Justice, Electronics, Chemistry, Electronics, or related field.
Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA/60 Hrs = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience.
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation
Two years electronics repair related experience or related law enforcement experience.
Breath lab experience preferred.
Certified Type II in the state of Missouri preferred.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position:
Criminal History check, Driver's license, Missouri license required

Class E or F driver’s license required to operate lab assigned vehicles.
Certified as an expert witness by the Missouri court system or able to be certified on-the-job.
Type II Supervisor or able to be certified on-the-job.
