switches, relays, resistors, contactors, lightning, motors, generators, surge
arrestors, breakers, fuses, PCL, control circuits, drives, and related electrical,
mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
Plans, coordinates, and participates in the electrical maintenance and
repair of movable bridges, roadway lightings and tunnel facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
and repairs bridge malfunctions.
routine bridge maintenance including, cleaning contacts, lamp replacement,
limit switch adjustment/replacement and keeping the bridge electrical systems
organized and properly functioning.
routine maintenance and service air condition units.
monthly Amperage and Megger Ohm reading on electrical components.
bridge street lights, navigational lights, traffic signals and advanced warning
scheduled maintenance of bridge components to ensure continuous bridge
span locks and traffic gates.
monthly maintenance logs and reports
Professional Engineers in their annual inspection of the movable bridge
electrical and mechanical systems.
to respond 24 hour a day for after hour emergency calls necessitated by
accidents or bridge malfunctions.
other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Electricians should posses the ability to cooperate
and communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
Must be able to consistently follow company and safety policies and
Ability to read movable
bridge electrical plans, blueprints and schematic drawings. Electricians should
be able to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply divide,
calculate proportions, percentages, measurements). Must also be able to
understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to read and interpret documents such
as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Familiarity with hand tools and power
Must be capable of
working in an environment in which demands and priorities change rapidly.
Ability to speak and understand Basic
This position requires a highly developed sense of
safety awareness and perceptive ability. You must have the ability to recognize
hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid

Minimum Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED (Preferred)
demonstrated experience in plant facilities maintenance at Journeyman Level or
Valid driver’s license and
acceptable driving record (Required)
– Class B with air brakes (Preferred)
