The Budget Technician will support the Budget Manager and Budget Specialist in the monitoring of department budgets and will assist with the data entry and with revisions of organizational charts and position control.

Requirements

For consideration for this position, candidates must meet all of the job requirements as listed below:

Associate’s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

·

Two years experience in accounting

·

Florida Public School District government accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

·

Assists the Budget Specialist with journal entries as required

·

Develops spreadsheets, analyzes results and reports findings to Budget Manager as requested

·

Assists with data entry for budget adjustments and changes

·

Assists with the monitoring of department budgets

·

Assists the Budget Specialist with the preparation of monthly budget reports and conversions

·

Reviews and monitors the accuracy of Position Control to the organizational charts and reports necessary changes each month

·

Assists in providing information to auditors as required

·

Provides a high level of customer service that includes assisting staff and any other internal/external customers

·

Works with department assistants to verify the availability of funds and monitors budgets for balance; reports to the Budget Specialist and/or Budget Manager of accounts over budget

·

Assists with the preparation of the annual Virtual Vision, reviews for page format, grammatical errors, etc. and prepares for printing

·
