The building attendant serves facility users including physical education students, athletic teams and recreation programs by maintaining, cleaning and issuing equipment. Position is also responsible for set-up and take-down before, during and after events which involves some night and weekend hours. Direct supervision will be received from the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Compliance.
Serve as the equipment attendant
Keep records for issuing equipment.
Keep records for game equipment.
Assist in laundering equipment including towels, practice gear and uniforms.
Assist with day-to-day facility operations.
Perform Fall sport field event set-up and take-down including footbalI, soccer and volleyball.
Perform Winter sport event set-up and take-down including basketball, wrestling and track.
Perform Spring sport event set-up and take-down including baseball, softball and track
Provide assistance with other special events as assigned.
Maintain/ clean weight rooms and cardio room
Maintain/ clean racquetball and squash courts.
Maintain/ clean classrooms and dance aerobics studio
Maintain/ clean, dry mop and wet mop Horsburgh gym.
Make small repairs in Emerson and Adelbert such as lights, rims, baskets and padding.
Perform any maintenance as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned
Department: Daily contact with Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Compliance, all department faculty and staff members and student worker staff.
University: Periodic contact with university faculty and staff.
External: Periodic contact with rental clients.
Students: Daily contact with undergraduate student workers and facility users.
Provide direct supervision for student workers that will be assisting in event set up, competition set up and logistics.
Experience: 1 year of experience required, prefer experience in collegiate athletics, recreation and/or facility operations. Other position-related experience will be considered.
Education/Licensing: High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Must have valid driver’s license.
1. Ability to lift and move athletic equipment as necessary.
2. Should possess computer skills; e.g., Microsoft Office.
Employee will be subject to contact with human blood and/or tissue. Employee will be called on to drive a university vehicle.
