Summary Performs maintenance and minor repairs of the non-retail downtown campus plus Data Center and growing campus; Operates mechanical, electrical systems and coordinates the work of elevator, escalator and other systems by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains One Hancock Plaza, other Gulfport Campus buildings, the Data Center, and other facilities at Cross Creek by performing routine facilities maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs to existing facilities.
Operates building systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, computer based building controls, pneumatic, emergency power, fire sprinkler, fire alarm and fire detection, lighting, Pro-bel safety, domestic water, sewer, elevator, escalator, and fuel.
Conducts routine maintenance inspections of facilities and prepares work list report and/or recommends corrective actions.
Makes repairs and coordinates repairs that must be made by others.
Coordinates key control, custody, and management.
Responds to urgent and emergency trouble calls, evaluates problems, and takes corrective action.
Procures materials and supplies
Makes minor repairs to walls and doors
Does minor maintenance and painting; maintains system labels and markings
Maintains and repairs windows and ceiling/floor finishes
Executes minor plumbing (repair leaking faucets, toilets, clears plugged drains) and electrical repairs (replace defective circuit breakers, wall switches and receptacles, repair damaged power cords and re-lamping)
Locates and repairs minor roof leaks
May be called upon to assist other trades or to perform other tasks as assigned by proper authority, including but not limited to, cleaning, moving of furniture and equipment, storm/hurricane preparation, recovery and de-preparation
Proven ability to read blue prints and technical diagrams
Understand and interpret electrical wiring

Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher education and knowledge abilities preferred over longer experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
