- Accepted participant of the 2013 NASA Ames Academy. - Valid driver's license from resident state required.
- Must be able to operate both the vehicle’s main brake pedal and the emergency brake simultaneously in the event of an emergency. - Must be willing to travel and work weekends and evenings.
- Prefer applicants with at least 4 years personal driving experience who are currently driving approximately 4 hours or more per week for personal reasons. - Experience driving a minivan or SUV a plus.
- Driving record shall show no more than one point within the past 36 months. Applicants will be excluded if record shows the following infractions: reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or driving with a suspended or revoked license, regardless of when the infraction occurred. Driving record will be verified through the DMV.
Specific Job Description
The candidate will function as an Assistant Driver for the 2013 NASA Ames Academy. (Academy Staff will have primary driving responsibilities.) The candidate will assist with daily driving between the Ames Center and off-site destinations including driving on weekend field trips throughout Northern and Southern California. This is a temporary position from May 28, 2013 - August 23, 2013. Candidate must be able to support the entire period.
