Business Analyst

Zions Bancorporation is now accepting resumes for our Business Analyst position located in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:

Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely.

Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those must base their work on the requirements.

Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements.

Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.

Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.

Participate in requirements prioritization.

Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents.

Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project.

Manage changes to baselined requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools.

Formulate proposals for new systems, procedures and/ or processes.

Conduct tests or test planning sessions, provides input for feasibility and prepares user documentation and follow-up evaluation.

Act as a liaison with subsidiary management and staff to resolve problems and improve processes or systems.

Perform project management leadership functions as a project manager or team member.

Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Information Systems or related discipline preferred.

Must have a strong understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice; familiarity with requirements engineering processes.

Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to help negotiate priorities, and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering).

Must have strong interviewing, listening, and observational skills.

Must have strong customer focus and ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.

Ability to manage competing priorities.

Must demonstrate strong analytical modeling skills to create models that clearly and easily communicate concepts to customers.

Proficient in Systems Development Lifecycle practices (SDLC)

Familiar with basic project management tools and practices

4-6 years relevant work experience (IT or Financial Services organization preferred).
