Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Transforms data into information necessary to make strategic business decisions.

Key Duties:
  • Proactively analyzes key business information and advises business leaders of emerging trends
  • Actively participates in the scoping of business opportunities and threats from both a strategic and financial perspective
  • Creates tools to allow for automated display of information (data transformed into actionable information)
  • Advises senior leadership of appropriate budgetary values and trends
  • Participates proactively in strategic business reviews as a corporate liaison between the business unit and corporate oversight functions
  • Challenges business decision background with support from data analysis
  • Trains business leaders and sales professionals on analysis tools to enable more informed strategic decision making
  • Interfaces with Product Management concerning new product introduction sales forecasting/costing as well as on cost reduction projects
  • Analyzes both direct and trace sales to determine sales professional bonus calculations and commissions
  • Determines proactively alternative measurement techniques/segregations of information to allow for strategic decision making
  • Collaborates with Information Technology, Pricing, and Sales Support to create tools and process to ensure data integrity
  • Teams with leaders and other departments on specially requested projects
  • Serves as a key source for gathering and reporting on product attribute information
  • Trains and mentors Sales System suers across the enterprise to help develop self reliance and power users within each department
Duties May Also Include:
Support identification, evaluation and prioritization of strategically sound opportunity areas for growth

Plan and execute appropriate market research to uncover insights, validate hypotheses and optimize strategy

Gather and evaluate continuous intelligence on Total Solution's performance, competition, distributor and end user attitudes and new problems and opportunities

Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis transforming and distilling data into valued information

Perform financial modeling designed to support strategic business decision making

Develop project deliverables for Senior Leadership presentations and updates

Actively seek ways to build, challenge and add value to business decision making processes

Education and Experience Required:
BA/BS in finance, engineering or another quantitative field; MBA preferred

Five (5) to eight (8) year’s experience in business analysis with a manufacturing environment, or in a like professional analysis role

Advanced level MS Office skills including all higher level functions of MS Excel

Three (3) years' experience with SAP

Additional Abilities Required:
  • Sound knowledge in accounting and practices of analysis
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

  • Education and Training — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Project management skills
  • Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Systems Evaluation — Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Operations Analysis — Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design
  • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Systems Analysis — Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
  • Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Written Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
