The Business Analyst will report through the Information Technology department and serve as the primary liaison between business units and the IT department for the purpose of delivering system enhancements. This role will be responsible for understanding current department/system workflows and identifying opportunities for process, reporting and/or system improvements. This position will assist in creating, clearly defining, prioritizing and managing the overall list of current and future project needs as they pertain to system improvements and enhancements. The majority of these projects and enhancements will pertain to our primary mortgage application, as well as our public website and our secure web portals used for customer interaction. The Business Analyst is also responsible for completing tasks and delivering projects as mutually agreed upon by his/her direct reporting relationship.
o Work with department and management personnel to create workflow diagrams of current department processes.
o Work with both internal employees and external business partners and customers to help create a better and more functional "user experience" within our public website and secure partner web portal.
o Assist in documenting job functions within the company and work to identify potential process changes. and/or system enhancements that will increase the overall performance of each department.
o Create project plans and documentation, as necessary, to define, manage, and communicate the implementation of an approved process change and/or system enhancemen.t
o Develop and maintain system reports that will assist department management and personnel in tracking individual and department performance.
o Work with current software vendors and other business partners as necessary to identify opportunities for automatic data transfers between both internal and external systems.
o Research, drive and/or assist with other Information Technology projects or special corporate-level projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
o Four-year degree in Business or Finance related fields.
o 3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager.
o Experience in mortgage banking or other financial institutional is a plus.
