The Business Analyst within the Application Services department is responsible for implementing and supporting the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP ) systems. The Analyst develops technical documentation, develops reports from the University’s data warehouse and provides system administration of storefront, workflow and document management technologies. The Business Analyst must communicate and work effectively with administrators and end users across the University.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Assistant Director in researching, testing & implementing the Banner General Module, Web Tailor, SSB , ODS , and EDW . Monitor BGENERAL and BPOST listservs for software upgrades/patches and other information related to implemented enterprise systems. Serve as security officer for the Banner General module.

Develop, maintain, and publish reports using the University’s data warehouse and the IBM Cognos reporting tool as directed by the Assistant Director. Assist the Assistant Director in coordinating the activities of the business intelligence working group. Coordinate information sharing sessions for report writers.

Perform MarketPlace (MP) administration duties including establishing new merchants and stores, managing user accounts, training new MP users, coordinating store development and approval, and ensuring that proper procedures and practices are followed by MP users. Facilitate MP user group meeting monthly. Develop and maintain the SJU documentation for Marketplace software and its deployment.

Assist in the implementation and support of the Banner Document Management System ( BDMS ). Provide support in analyzing business processes and in addressing issues reported by end users. Assist in training new users in the user of BDMS .

Train and assist users in the implementation of workflow technology. Develop workflows in consultation with end users.

Develop and maintain technical documentation for SJU custom built applications as requested by Assistant Director.

Assist the Assistant Director in working with users to analyze their business processes and work flows. Develop user requirements based on the process review.

Secondary Responsibilities:
Support the financial affairs division’s information systems, as needed.

Assist the Assistant Director and Director of Project Management in preparing documentation for IT Project Review and ongoing project management.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
The position requires long periods spent in front of a computer.

Occasionally, night hours or weekends are required.

Minimum Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree required.

Experience working with packaged software preferably Ellucian’s Banner system required.

Experience developing reports with IBM Cognos, MS Access or similar reporting software is essential.

Experience in delivering end user training.

Must possess excellent problem-solving, organization, interpersonal, written and oral skills along with good project management and professional skills.

Must be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter.
