CHILDRENS SERVICES COUNCIL OF PALM BEACH COUNTY JOB DESCRIPTION BUSINESS ANALYTICS OFFICER FLSA STATUS Exempt REPORTS TO Director of Business Analytics JOB SUMMARY This professional position is responsible for providing quality data relevant to the Children’s Services Councils mission in order to assist leadership’s decision making as it relates to allocation of resources and improving outcomes for children and families in Palm Beach County Responsible for using project management skills in the integration of business analytic activities that support the tactical and strategic efforts required to achieve departmental goals Works in collaboration with information management and evaluation staff in establishing methods to identify and implement policies and procedures that support data quality standards Researches compiles and analyze existing documents and statistical data from department and local state national and international agencies to address issues relevant to CSCs mission This position promotes the use of quality data from a system and program perspective and is responsible for information facilitation by engaging in learning conversations with a variety to CSCs mission that aid in the efficient deployment of CSCs resources and improve outcomes for CSCs clients Collects and organizes information from all available resources to study and analyze past and existing patterns and trends relevant to CSCs mission Develops and provides adhoc requests for data and reports from all levels and units of the division Ensures the final reporting solution meets the highest quality and customer needs Creates and documents repeatable processes for management of projects new procedures and functions in business analytics Assists with the establishment of an electronic repository of CSC system data so that data is readily available to all staff Acts as a department liaison with other staff and agencies on requests for system and community information and reviews documents to ensure the accuracy of CSC system data Works with information management and evaluation staff to establish methods for identifying and solving data quality problems by developing and executing methods designed to adhere to data quality standards Reviews and evaluates current production reporting solutions and design enhancementsadditions to produce improved analytical reporting solutions Develops into a subject matter expert on CSC data data processes and business rules for systemprogram definitions Facilitates the development and communication of business rules for systemprogram definitions and creating viewsextracts by involving relevant stakeholders eliciting requirements using interviews data analysis business process descriptions use cases and scenarios and translate the requirements into appropriate levels of detail and deliverables Prepares timely comprehensive and detailed written reports summaries statistical reports analytical charts graphs and maps based on patterns and trends and using principles and practices of professional report writing that provide actionable information for appropriate department personnel Produces periodic reports and bulletins detailing information resulting from analysis that enables its use by all appropriate personnel Coordinates information exchange (eg data sharing agreements) between departments and outside agencies Performs additional analysis to answer questions generated from analysis of data or in response to staff requests for information Researches compiles and analyze existing documents and statistical data from department and local state national and international agencies to address issues relevant to CSCs mission Uses modern statistical methods and programs when analyzing data for patterns and trends and to monitor system performance on key data elements Develops manages and maintains electronic spreadsheets (MS Excel) and statistical applications (ie SPSS) for business analytics Uses computer databases electronic spreadsheets geographic information systems (GIS) applications desktop publishing word processing and statistical applications to create access manage and analyze data and to design develop and present tables graphs and maps Uploads and downloads documents data and files necessary for business analytics functions Develops and provides hardcopy and webbased training materials focused on how best to use the information in the production reporting Other Perform work at the highest level of discretion and independent judgment and responsible for
