Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience
Financial services experience
Minimum seven to ten years of IT work experience in multiple IT areas
Minimum 2 to 3 years of enterprise architecture experience
Familiarity with infrastructure design
Proven ability to build consensus in a matrixed, collaborative environment
Proven track record in delivering business value through Technology
Experience in constantly changing environments and implementing changes without interrupting the flow of business
Ability to anticipate obstacles and opportunities for the company while keeping its financial well-being in-mind
Ability to lead multiple concurrent activities
Strong technology roadmapping skills
Strong and demonstrated team leadership skills. Experience in conflict resolution.

Job Description:
The Business Architect is responsible for leading concept phase project work, specifically providing leadership, guidance and definition of business solutions which effectively support the corporate business strategy and leverage enterprise technology investments where applicable. Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, designing, and proposing solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. The incumbent in this role must have significant business knowledge, experience with defining business processes, and broad information technology expertise across applications, middleware and infrastructure.
The role interfaces with other architects and third party vendors as well as business areas, acting as a visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects. The role has responsibility for conception of solutions, building consensus and the selling of such solutions. The Business Architect will also analyze and recommend technology strategies where gaps exist including performing proofs-of-concept as needed and developing Technology roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintains current and in-depth knowledge of FNFG Technology environment, both applications and infrastructure, as well as familiarity with industry-standard technology
Transforms corporate strategy into business and technology designs that enable the business to meet strategic plans
Designs dynamic, flexible new models for the business that enable it to adjust and thrive in constantly changing competitive environments
Identifies cross-organizational impacts of proposed actions and develop solution options that mitigate negative impacts while delivering the business benefits
Facilitates business and technology interaction while projects are in the concept and initiation phases
Applies the concept phase methodology to the appropriate business need based on the maturity of the organization and the project timeline and criticality
Leads the business through business process analysis and technology road mapping activities, keeping business change management in perspective along with technology change
Performs proofs-of-concept as needed to determine technology solutions
Models business concepts effectively as a communication and documentation device
Facilitates structured workshops, specifically in areas of business architecture such as strategy, project contextualization and scoping, road-mapping, business process, business rules, and information
Collaborates with business analysts and SME's to apply and refine business requirements to drive the solutions, ensuring scope and timing requirements are tightly managed
Collaborates with other developers and architects to ensure buy in and socialization of proposed solutions
Assists in developing business cases that provide Executive Management with the information they need to make wise investment decisions
Identifies and champions reuse opportunities
Ensures consistent best practices and processes are employed across enterprise initiatives
Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
