Primary Accountability:
Manage a team of Business Banking Relationship Managers responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of business clients that have annual revenue up to $10million. Achieve individual production goals while fostering a team-approach to business development and client retention. Provide leadership and direction to team members in:
• Development of new banking relationships
• Servicing of existing client base, including cross-selling/referring of other credit union products
• Achievement of assigned goals, both individual and team
• Networking with centers of influence and other referral sources
• Risk mitigation through portfolio monitoring, structured client contact and market awareness
• Partner with branches to further develop the small business segment
• Negotiating with underwriters and clients to maximize revenue and minimize risk
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage, develop, motivate, and recognize a competent staff to achieve the current and future Business Banking needs of ESL
• Develop and manage an individual portfolio of more complex business banking relationships
• Create and maintain relationships with centers of influence and other referral sources
• Understand and adhere to ESL’s Credit Policy, processes, procedures and use of lending authority
• Support Relationship Managers by participating in joint calls, assisting with complex loan structuring while interacting with Credit Risk Management, senior management, customers, and centers of influence to facilitate loan production.
• Minimum of seven years of business lending experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, Master’s degree preferred
• Ability to read and analyze financial statements and tax returns – Completed bank formal credit training program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of credit union personnel, clients and potential customers
• Ability to work under critical time constraints
• Successful track record of new business development and relationship management in this segment
• Current experience in the credit union’s geographic region
• Prior management experience required
