Essential Job Responsibilities:
•Report directly to Executive Vice President of Online Sales.
•Assist in all aspects of the sales process (category, account and database research, proposal requests, insertion orders, revisions, post-buy analysis, presentation and database development, event planning, etc.).
•Work collaboratively with other offices to drive revenue growth in all vertical groups from new and existing customers.
•Passion for selling and prior experience with the online sales process and demonstrated record success of prospecting, closing and retaining new advertisers.
•Use your knowledge of regional clients and agencies to develop high-level relationships.
•Work consultatively with major customers to optimize their advertising spends.
•Understand, adapt and contribute to the evolution of our advertising products and services.
•Establish and maintain advertising agency relations while being a positive and influential presence in your region.
•Responsible for sending correspondence, faxing, filing and all other clerical duties.
•Field telephone calls.
•Develop a working relationship with key contacts inside and outside of the company, facilitating smooth coordination of the sales and marketing process.
•Maintain account files, including correspondence, contracts and revisions associated with the order.
•Establish contacts at clients’ company; act as a liaison with advertising agencies and clients in monitoring accounts.
•Support the EVP by taking on as much administrative responsibility as possible.
•Handle all other miscellaneous tasks assigned by the account directors.
•1 + years online experience preferred.
•Cross-functional knowledge of sales and operations.
•Proficiency in various software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Outlook) is a must.
•College degree preferred but not entirely necessary.
•Internships in related fields and/or prior office experience and general computer knowledge is a plus.
•Must be outgoing, organized, efficient, forward-thinking, a resourceful problem-solver, creative, ambitious, detail-oriented, pro-active and a flexible team player with a positive can-do attitude and a strong interest in the media business.
•Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and capable of multi-tasking while assisting in the strategic planning and execution of corporate sales and marketing objectives.
