department has an excellent opportunity for the newly created position of a

Business Development Analyst

in our


office. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Business Development and other Marketing team members to support the Firm's national business development program as well as other business development initiatives. Specific duties include the following:

Assist with communications regarding Business Development program, including:

Coordination of meetings and taking meeting minutes

Preparing program status updates for management

Formatting, analyzing, and providing new business reports for management

In conjunction with the Finance Department, create and/or edit and distribute financial reports regarding costs, time, and revenue

Identify business development best practices and package these to allow others to leverage these practices in their business development efforts (ex., strategies, tactics, research & analysis, events, etc.)

Work with business development teams as needed for special business development programs in any office or practice to design process, create program tools, track commitments, and report on results

Coordinate with Business Development & Marketing Managers, Business Development & Marketing Coordinators, and Business Development Leaders to keep target tracking tool and similar tools up to date

Create and maintain and business development program materials

Coordinate with Marketing writers to document success stories and publish business development tips and best practices to intranet and relevant internal newsletters

Facilitate and, in some cases, contribute to the research and analysis to assist with target selection and pursuit planning

Stay abreast of target, firm, and industry news to alert team members of potential opportunities

Coordinate with business development team to maintain full and accurate RFP and deliverables database in order to prepare pipeline and success reports

Coordinate with library and vendors to manage and leverage fully information resources such as ContactNet and news feeds

Track availability and usage of business development training resources such as self-learning programs and hired trainers and coaches

Support attorneys as needed as back up to Business Development Marketing Coordinators and other department members

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field with 3–5 years of work experience in marketing, business development, and/or practice development in a law firm or professional services firm.

Demonstrates initiative and has the ability to exercise sound independent judgment

Strong attention to detail, self-motivated work ethic with a proactive approach

Solid proofreading and researching skills

Proficiency in MS Office Suite

A strong client service approach and team orientation; being highly responsive and user-friendly

Strong analytical and organizational skills with a tolerance for uncertainty and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision

Establish credibility with colleagues and attorneys through quality work and communications that bring to bear the right mix of confidence, tact, and persistence
