Position Summary

Later this year, AIG Personal Lines division will be introducing new property and casualty products. This includes automobile, homeowner, valuable articles and excess liability coverage specially designed for the affluent segment (top 1% - 10% of the wealthiest US households).
In order to support aggressive product growth and profitability plans, AIG has an opportunity for a Business Development Manager within our Personal Lines division. The primary focus of this position will be to significantly increase the broker distribution channel in New Jersey and effectively manage these relationships.

Organizational Structure
The Business Development Manager reports directly to the Regional Distribution Manager.

Performance Objectives
The individual in this role will be responsible for business development in New Jersey; the position will be working out of our office in Berkeley Heights, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of a territory business plan that outlines key initiatives associated with revenue growth, profitability and expense control. Specifically, you will be charged with identifying and appointing qualified new brokers along with training and managing these agents in order to drive new business production, key-account retention, new product roll-out, and account prospecting.

Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
The candidate we desire has a minimum of 5 years of insurance background with sales and marketing experience. Critical to qualify for the position is a proven track record in sales, marketing and distributor development/management. Must have 2-5 years of prior business to business sales experience. Excellent communication, written ,verbal, listening and interviewing skills will be essential along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work independently; self starter.
