The Opportunity: Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for creating and capturing demand for our services and programs. The BDM’s role is multi-faceted. They provide thought leadership for our clients - bringing them creative and thought provoking ideas to generate further exploration. The BDM works closely with our project finance, engineering and operations and facilities funding teams to help develop impactful business solutions

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
2+ years of consultative sales experience .
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to uncover client needs and create and create original, innovative business solutions that meet these identified political needs.
Demonstrated thought leadership, intellectual rigor and curiosity.
Ability to develop and maintain executive relationships that influence the direction of an organization.
Ability to uncover and validate the political power structure of an organization.
Demonstrated interest in renewable energy. and passion to serve others and make a difference.
5+ years "consultative" (not hardware or product) sales experience, preferably in the energy industry.
Public Sector/Public Affairs experience in the local market.
School District and local government sales experience.
Knowledge of public sector legislation and policy.
Ability to understand policy, legislative and financial terms and effectively communicate to customers.
Prior experience selling complex solutions and/or services to public sector customers.
