is seeking a
Business Development Manager
for our North American Antenna business units. You will be responsible for company’s continued growth in the existing markets and expanding into new ones as well as being involved in the long-term development plans for the business. It is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to work with a leading-edge aerospace and defense company.
The preferred work location would be San Diego area (Southern California area). Second choice location would be Washington, DC area.

Analyze aerospace markets to find opportunities for Cobham Antenna Systems solutions
Understand the competitive situation for Cobham offerings into customer accounts while working with key customer stakeholders to provide technical solutions that differentiate Cobham from the competition
Maintain a key pursuit list and associated activities
Manage delivery of competitive bids
Provide key customer relationship management
Develop both tactical and long term strategic account plans for key accounts
Support/lead creation and implementation of market and customer development strategies and plans
Establish and meet yearly, quarterly and monthly sales budget
Quote, bid & proposal preparation and subsequent bid management
Harnessing individual company, and group internal synergies and market opportunities
Cross-company exploitation of products, services and markets
Six years’ experience in business development and sales within the aerospace / defense industry
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (8 yrs. applicable work experience)
Airborne communications and navigation systems technologies, RF technology and antenna product experience
Experience with bid and proposal management
Experience with key account management and business capture plans
Must be a U. S. Citizen
Ability to travel approximately 30% - 50% (domestic)
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Experience working with engineering leadership, program management, and functional executives across the customer enterprise (down to procurement)
Proficient with Computer skills MS office - Excel, Word, PP and Microsoft Dynamic CRM
Experience with platforms, environments, and where the services are headed; US Air Force domain knowledge a plus; direct experience selling into platform primes and integrators: Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, L-3, BAE, General Dynamics
Prior military experience a plus
