OICI seeks a Business Development Manager to report to the Director of Business Development and Marketing to manage fundraising and donor engagement effort s in a time of organizational transformation and renewal. The candidate must have experiencein researching and identifying potential industry and government partners; initiating contact and meeting with prospective partners; and preparing technical proposals, budgets, and presentations. Database maintenance, including partner contact information and interaction history a must.
This individual must be exceedingly well organized and flexible, demonstrate federal contracting expertise, have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and enjoy business development and marketing challenges of a growing organization. The individual must be able to monitor joint funding opportunities with partners; develop creative promotional materials for the organization to include the web site, publications, and press releases. The candidate will work closely with the Director of Business Development and Marketing in strategically planning the direction for business development and overall initiatives of the organizatio n .
The candidate will be accountable fo r business development results . Additionally, the individual will monitor project status in relation to deadlines/projections by utilizing project management software and provide development progress and productivity updates on a regular basis.
Must have at least four (4) years of ex perience in federal, private or foundation business development responsibilities with demonstrated success. A BA/BS degree is required with at least six (6) years of work experience in business development; and an MA/MS degree is preferred. Strong marketing background preferred.
Candidate must w ork in collaboration and cooperation for the success of the team and the overall organization. The candidate should have exemplary analytical and organizational skills, as well as superior writing and editing skills. Be capable of making sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work efficiently, multitask and deliver under tight deadlines.
