Reporting to the Director, Alliances and Business Development you will focus on accelerating new and existing global relationships and accounts. You will negotiate new business and develop strategic business relationships and alliances. In addition, you will be responsible for inbound and outbound licensing agreements, OEM and ODM relationships, and other alliances to augment SMART's current product and service offerings. This position can be based anywhere in Western Europe or the continental United States.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Managing highly visible account relationships
  • Renewing and renegotiating existing partnerships
  • Researching and developing new opportunities to build long-term strategic relationships
  • Leading the screening and development process with external alliance companies
  • Leading and facilitating the smooth transition of business opportunities from development to commercial execution stages
  • Creating and evaluating business terms with new and existing relationships
  • Negotiating contracts to successful closure
  • Structuring OEM and ODM agreements
  • Leading intellectual property inbound and outbound licensing work
  • Completing financial analysis to effectively assess opportunities
  • Leading, managing, tracking and evaluating alliance relationships
  • Mentoring alliance team members in deal design, structure, terms, negotiation and presentations
  • Defining and leading the alliance team's best practices approach to business development
  • Performing other duties upon request
Job Requirements

You have the following qualifications:
  • Degree in business, marketing or a related field preferably, an MBA
  • Ten years' experience in progressive business development roles
  • Experience with intellectual property licensing
  • Experience working remotely with independent motivation to accomplish organizational objectives
  • Working knowledge of technology trends and innovation
  • Proven strategic planning and financial analysis skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one
  • Experience working in the international marketplace
