DESCRIPTION

Candidate will identify, solicit, develop, manage and service new and prospective client relationships by offering a complete range of retail and small business banking services to also include loan products for the Cornelius and Huntersville branches.

DUTIES

1. Client Sales & Service
a. Using a consultative sales approach in working with retail and small business clients, uncover needs and provide the appropriate solutions necessary to fulfill those needs.
b. In an advisory capacity, determine the credit needs of both retail and small business clients to provide the necessary credit products with adequate structure and underwritten according to FCB lending policies while at the same time ensuring quality, growth, and profitability.
c. Candidate aggressively and proactively make daily contact with existing and prospective clients by phone or in-person to identify other needs and make referrals to the appropriate banking wealth management, Trust or insurance partners.
d. Continually demonstrate a helpful, professional, friendly attitude and commitment to the "FCB Way".
e. Be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision in performing job duties.
f. Possess a through knowledge of retail and small business banking products and services.

2. Operational Activities
a. Interview applicants to develop financial and credit information necessary to determine needs, abilities, earnings and Bank risk; request all necessary documentation and information.
b. Assume responsibility for proper documentation and account reviews.
c. Provide assistance necessary to insure collection of delinquent accounts and minimization of loss.

3. Community Activities and Networks
a. As a community bank, the retail services officer must develop networks and create spheres of influence both externally and internally. Within the community, the candidate will be expected to work and non-profit organizations, Chamber of Commerce, etc. Not only to provide community support but to create a network of influential prospective clients.
b. Serve as a ambassador with the community by conducting seminars, presenting programs, etc. to area schools and other groups, etc.

4. Additional Responsibilities
a. Self development: pursue additional education to improve knowledge skill building as it relates to position, compliance and the general banking industry.
b. Customer confidential: as specified in the Bank's Code of Conduct, client information is privileged and should never be divulged.
c. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
a. In-depth working knowledge of products and product set for the expected level of consultative selling and cross selling necessary to satisfy client needs.
b. Ability to exhibit a warm, friendly, approachable personal style in order to effectively and professionally deal with all clients' and visitors' needs.
c. Proficient knowledge of banking policies and procedures necessary to exercise sound judgment and decision making.
d. Possess good written and verbal communications' skills.
e. Ability to work under minimum supervision, self-motivated with high initiative.

Education and Experience
a. Bachelor's Degree preferred
b. minimum of three years retail/small business banking experience
c. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer and software skills or the ability to adapt quickly in order to master these necessary skills.
d. Must be able to maintain composure under pressure.
