Are you looking to join a winning team in an organization that is in full growth and expansion mode? We are a successful organization in the health industry and seek to hire a Business Development Specialist to assess and interpret emerging market areas. In this unique opportunity, the Business Development Specialist will work with physician leadership to develop and expand business opportunities throughout the country in accordance with the organization’s vision. In addition, identify and analyze regional healthcare market trends including physician merger and acquisition activity, OB/GYN specific physician activities, payer makeup, hospital system makeup, population demographics, and other regional factors influencing opportunity prioritization and development. The Business Development Specialist will travel as required with physician leaders in order to build and cultivate relationships with prospective group members.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform market analysis and provide comprehensive reporting of regional opportunities for expansion
  • Develop target prospects for initial recruitment meetings and prospect pipelines
  • Develop and provide competitor analysis by market area
  • Provide follow through calls and meetings to facilitate relationship building after initial recruiting meetings
  • Provide follow up presentations to prospective clients in groups and individually
  • Track and report on the status of all pipeline activities
  • Manage comprehensive travel and lodging schedules for department
  • Develop a presentation targeted to prospects that outlines the values proposition, objectives, culture and vision o the national OB/GYN organization
  • Work collaboratively with implementation teams to insure clear communication and expectations relative to new and/or prospective clients
  • Communicate to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations/proposals focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group i.e. clear details, critical timeframes, and expectations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing required
  • Minimum four years experience in business development/sales with at least 1 year in a healthcare related field
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively in groups and one-on-one settings
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Results-orientated individual possessing a strong record of success
  • Resourceful approach to problem-solving, demonstrating critical thinking skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Ability to travel with overnight stay more than 50% of the time
  • Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience working in a medical environment preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful
