Business Development Specialist

Scope of Function:
Help to develop new business for Goodwin Biotechnology, a biologics contract manufacturing organization (CMO) specializing in the process development and
cGMP manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals and biologics.

Specific Duties:
  • Assist the Manager of Business Development to identify and qualify leads derived from various sources, including the Goodwin website, newsletters, conference attendee lists, marketing reports, lead generation services, and others
  • Follow up routinely with leads, qualified leads, and prospects to advance them up the sales pipeline toward contracts
  • Update and maintain various electronic databases, including database of leads and prospects as well as proposals and contracts
  • Help to prepare and review the following documents: Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), proposals, and contracts, e.g., Statements of Work (SOW) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs)
  • Help to internally and externally coordinate site visits by prospective clients
  • Education, Experience and Skills Required:
    Education:
    Bachelors degree in the Biological Sciences or a related field

    Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in biotechnology or biopharmaceutical research & development, manufacturing, analytical characterization, or related areas
  • Previous sales and marketing experience, particularly in contract manufacturing, is a plus
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills as well as good computer skills
