Global Markets Intelligence (GMI) / Standard & Poor’s Investment Advisory Services (SPIAS) is a critical part of S&P Capital IQ. SPIAS acts as non-discretionary RIA offering multi-manager strategies, equity strategies and fixed income strategies to financial institutions and financial intermediaries. This role will be based in New York and be critical for building a pipeline of advisory relationships and growing assets under advisement.

A key member of the SPIAS team, the SPIAS Business Development / Marketing Manager will work closely with client’s wholesalers and marketers in execution of strategies to drive more assets in SPIAS portfolios available to our client’s advisors. The SPIAS Business Development role will assist in the development of campaigns with our clients to support the growth in assets through their sales channels, which could include channel sales, wholesalers, or advisors directly. The SPIAS B/D manager also works with clients to attend training sessions to educate clients around SPIAS investment products and help our clients communicate why they have SPIAS as a third party manager on their asset management platform.

Responsibilities:
Develop joint marketing programs, sales strategies, and marketing campaigns to support the growth of assets in SPIAS investment strategies by working with our clients wholesalers and direct sales channels.

Develop unique positioning for SPIAS investment products relative to competition. Articulate each portfolio strategy’s distinct investment process, advantages, building robust sales stories and ensuring consistent marketing positioning.

Develop campaigns with our clients to market to advisors and users of TAMP (Turnkey Asset Management programs) to encourage them to shift assets to SPIAS.

Originate creative ideas and solutions to drive asset growth, socialize with peers, prioritize with management, and follow through to execution.

Assist MD/VP with business reporting

Implement SPIAS communications programs and manage program calendar across client efforts. Write, edit and coordinate the production of clients and advisor marketing efforts to support SPIAS campaigns. Focuses on print collateral, sales ideas, presentations, video communications / training and email communication.

Work with the S&P Capital IQ Marketing team and Financial Communications to manage the creative process. Work collaboratively around the implementation, execution and distribution of marketing tactics and initiatives.

Work closely with the sales and business development team to move leads from marketing events to sales managers or relationship managers. Work as a cohesive team with aggressive growth goals to make all sales and development efforts complementary.

Work with clients to train their wholesalers and advisors on SPIAS investment strategies. Travel to client meetings, conduct training and product education, and provide access to the depth of S&P Capital IQ analytical resources to provide additional value to our clients.

Be able to discuss SPIAS investment strategies across disciplines and target these strategies to advisors needs via educational dialogue.

Be able to relate to a broad spectrum of investment professionals across many levels of seniority

Represent S&P Capital IQ in a first class manner

Strong understanding of different Wealth management markets, including retail, broker /dealer, independent advisors, wholesalers, insurance companies.

Expertise with current marketing disciplines and the ability to turn these into best practices at S&P.

Strong written, oral communication and presentational skills coupled with strong attention to detail.

Ability to understand legal and compliance requirements for SPIAS marketing materials

Bachelor’s degree required.
