ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Ø

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Operations Management, Nursing, or other healthcare discipline is required.

Ø

Two years’ analytical experience required, with demonstrated proficiency using spreadsheet, database, and Microsoft Office tools.

Ø

Experience with cost accounting, benchmarking systems, and statistical software tools preferred.

Ø

Project management experience preferred.

Ø

Must demonstrate ability to be organized and self-directed.

Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in problem-solving, decision-making and critical-thinking.

Ø

Must have strong interpersonal skills.

Must communicate and interact effectively with stakeholders from all levels of the organization.

ORGANIZATION

This position is under the supervision of the Manager of Business Intelligence.

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility, although may give direction to other department members in the course of project management.

Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects as assigned by various individuals.

AGE OF PATIENT SERVED

No clinical contact with patients.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Promote personal and patient safety.

Assist in the development and maintenance of the hospital cost accounting system, including patient profitability models.

Ensure accurate information is available for profitability modeling, business planning, pay-for-performance, physician scorecards, and utilization analysis.

Under management supervision, maintains an accurate overhead allocation methodology, ensuring that allocation models effectively assign costs to the appropriate cost drivers.

Train hospital management in interpreting cost accounting reports.

Assist in the development and maintenance of labor standards used to develop departmental staffing requirements. (These same standards are used as procedural level labor standards in the cost accounting system, and in budget development.)

Assist in the development, maintenance and ensure timely release of scorecards, dashboards and reporting of key organizational performance metrics.

Ensure monitoring tools provide timely, accurate and consistent information for decision-making.

Under management supervision, compiles, analyzes and submits information for a variety of benchmarking initiatives

Extracts and analyzes information around performance, identifying areas of variance or opportunity for improvement.

Assist in the development of business requirements.

Participate in the understanding and analysis of current data flows, and the identification of defects, errors, waste, and variation.

Participate in the assessment and improvement of data processes and information flow.

Assume a substantial role in data governance at Munson.

Converts raw data from a variety of systems into information for operational, tactical and strategic decision-making.

Provides technical guidance to others within the department and to customers.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
