Business Intelligence Analyst:
TruGreen LandCare is currently seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, this position is responsible for the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence Technology to support the end user community in the use of self service analysis/reporting tools. The qualified candidate should possess strong technical skills and be especially be proficient in writing stored procedures.
Responsibilities include working closely with key business customers and data consumers to define critical information needs, providing guidance regarding availability of data, capability of systems to meet information needs, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging reporting tools.
In addition, as the department implements its strategic objective to reduce the business dependency on ad hoc report development by IT and promote end user self service reporting, this position will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of models and data structures that selected business users can use to develop their own reports and queries. This effort includes but is not limited to requirements and scope documentation, data definitions and participation in the design, development and implementation of end user tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence Analyst
Participates in the requirements, design, development and testing of information products as well as creation of end user documentation.
Works collaboratively with other IT groups to ensure solid cross-functional decisions are made as a team.
Works jointly with internal and external staff to achieve strategic goals and with the Business Systems Manager to develop approaches in support of business information needs.
Coordinates with infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and business results.
Experience in project management and systems development life cycle methodologies.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with all business units.
Excellent written skills, including experience with use case and technical documentation. Planning and organizational skills required.
Goal-oriented – wants to ‘get things done’
Working knowledge of Data Warehouse methodologies.
Understanding of relational database systems (Oracle/JD Edwards World a plus) Previous knowledge of entity-relationship, dimensional, logical and physical data modeling. Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate and apply new technical knowledge.
Strong BA skills (gathering requirements, working with users, understanding user requests)
Previous Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance ( SQL skills with expertise in relevant Microsoft technologies including SQL Server required)
A technical leader with experience in Operational and Analytical Reporting
Any combination of education and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein. Possession of industry certifications is preferred.
