Under limited supervision, provides support of organizations data. Utilizes extensive knowledge of systems analysis. Designs and plans data repositories, warehouses, data marts and databases, and serves as team leader as appropriate. Responsible for analysis, reporting, and documentation of data. Responsible for development and maintenance of data warehousing applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyzes management needs regarding use of data for business intelligence.
Investigates, plans, implements, tests software for data storage and reporting.
Develops and schedules reports.
Plans, coordinates, and schedules investigations, feasibility studies and surveys, including economic evaluation of proposed and existing applications related to business intelligence.
Prepares on-line and hard copy documentation of data for business intelligence.
Provides instruction and training to employees.
May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff and/or student employees.
Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
Performs problem resolution and provides on-call support for computer systems.
Ability to analyze requirements and assess business intelligence products.
Knowledge of report writing languages.
Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot business intelligence software.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Knowledge of a broad range of relevant applications.
Ability to design, develop, and implement integrated software systems solutions for business intelligence.
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends.
Ability to develop and write documentation and guides for users.
Ability to provide training and/or support activities for users.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to determine the nature of computer software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users.
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol.
Knowledge of federal copyright laws as they pertain to the use of computer software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
