Description and Requirements:
Due to growth and expansion within our client's Information Systems department, we are currently seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to join their team.
The candidate will play a key role in the implementation of a new SAP BI/BW solution. The BI Architect will work with business teams to gather requirements, prioritize work, develop enhancements, coordinate testing and perform change management and training for BI/BW systems. This includes design, construction, testing of backend components, ETL processes, cubes, and reports. The BI Architect will ensure the continued support and administration of the data warehouse, OLAP and reporting environments using predominantly SAP BI/BW systems. This includes day-to-day maintenance, support and enhancement of the environment.
Specific Duties:
Research, analyze, design, develop, and deliver SAP BW/BI solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Review and analyze requirements for SAP BW/BI enhancement requests presented by business teams. Design, implement and support complex ETL processes (SAP and non-SAP systems). Participate in the development and support of reporting solutions including modifications, performance tuning, problem solving, debugging, and unit testing. Provide support and maintenance of stages of the BI project lifecycle. Create and maintain documentation, including standards, implementation plans, configuration, and procedural documents. Build BW InfoCubes, DSO, extractor and update programs. Create and maintain DSO's, InfoCubes & Multi-providers. Identify and evaluate alternate technical solutions, providing recommendations in the use of new and/or existing technologies. Collaborate with analysts, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and developing BI/BW solutions. Recommends the appropriate BI Tools (BEx, WebI, Dashboard, Crystal, etc.) based on reporting needs. Provide recommendations to software developers and technical staff to improve design, performance, and scalability. Monitor BI and Reporting services. Provide reports that include statistics, baselines, patterns, and issues. Make recommendations for improvements and perform tuning accordingly.
