TITLE OF POSITION: Business Intelligence Developer (Grade 11)
DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will be responsible for the development and support of the BI architecture, projects & solutions, and other BI-related initiatives. The BI Developer serves as both analyst & programmer, performing requirements gathering, functional & technical design, and solution development.
•Experience with leading BI tools, e.g. Business Objects, Pentaho, Cognos
•Experience developing dashboards & portals
•Experience developing ETL jobs using leading ETL tools, e.g. SSIS, Informatica
•Experience building reports using tools such as Crystal Reports
•Experience developing OLAP solutions and dimensional modeling using tools such as MSAS, PowerPlay, Business Objects
•Skills in requirements gathering and functional & technical design
•Strong work ethic and high personal standards
•Excellent communication skills & collaborative mindset
•Ability to handle multiple workstreams simultaneously
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years in BI analyst/programmer role using industry standard BI tools
LIST OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1Work with individuals across the organization to identify Business Intelligence needs
2.Gather & confirm requirements for BI solutions
3.Develop & support various types of BI solutions, including all aspects of information flow from source data to delivery
4.Build out the organization’s Operational Data Store (ODS) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
5.Build the organization’s Master Data Management (MDM) and Customer Data Integration (CDI) strategies & architectures
6.Must have understanding of software development practices employed at ASQ and adopted languages such as JAVA, JAVA Script, Perl, etc.
1.Internal - Frequent contact with staff at all levels; daily contact with IT staff.
2.External - Frequent direct contact with IT vendor community and other business contacts; phone and/or limited direct contact with business suppliers regarding IT activities.

3.Interacts with IT and ASQ Staff at all levels in the conduct of this process
4.Reviews tested, prototype output with requestor(s)
5.Puts accepted output into production
6.Documents all aspects of production
7.Stay current on all technology changes impacting these activities across multiple systems
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Minimal supervision required
