Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Lead Developer will provide technical expertise and leadership to the business intelligence team, with responsibilities including product evaluation, requirements analysis, technical architecture, design and development of data warehouse solutions, and training/mentoring of other developers. This is a two year position.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience - 8 or more years experience in technical and leadership roles of increasing authority and responsibility - Ability to function effectively in a technology leadership role, demonstrating vision, intiative, and creativity in approaching technical challenges, as well as the ability to clearly communicate the vision and win buy-in for proposed solutions. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels of the university - Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and tenacity; exceptional problem-solving and decision-making ability - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy - Desire and ability to share knowledge, both teaching and learning from IT colleagues - Experience planning and leading technical design efforts, including database modeling (ideally for data warehouse environments); ETL experience highly desirable - Database administration and performance tuning experience a plus - Familiarity with the full software development life cycle - Experience managing technical projects - Experience using Agile software development methodologies is desireable - Proficiency with three or more of the following technologies or comparable substitutes: - - IBM Cognos Business Intelligence tools - - SunGard Banner systems - - Oracle PL/SQL - - Toad - - Microsoft SQL Server - - Oracle Warehouse Builder - - Composite Information Server - - Java - - JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks - - XML - Experience working in a higher education environment is a plus
