The role: Business Intelligence Practice Lead
This position will lead the team of technical staff responsible for creating and maintaining business intelligence applications. This includes technologies such as data integration, data quality, data warehousing, master data management, text and content analytics, and Information Management. The individual will work closely with the business units/customers responsible for creating dashboards and reports to achieve strategic, tactical, and operational goals.
This position is responsible for overall management and resource allocation of the unit and will have full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and programming plus the duties of instructing, supervising, and checking the work of other systems analysis/programming personnel.
Serve as a thought leader and knowledge manager in business intelligence space by developing and nurturing a deep expertise in market and discipline
Represent practice area expertise in new business and agency marketing efforts
Lead and promote effort to develop new and support existing business intelligence solutions
Responsible for methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision-making.
Responsible for the definition, upkeep, reporting, and training of the processes for technical development business function to ensure quality production
Plan operational and project work and assign technical resources accordingly
Support technical development staff by providing technical leadership, direction, and mentoring
Be the technical lead on BI projects that require interaction with customer staff and involve significant technical or business process change
Attends relevant conferences, networks with industry leaders, and seeks appropriate speaking opportunities
Identifies opportunities to publicize the agency’s practice area expertise
BA/BS degree in technology or related field
Excellent technical abilities and analytical skills, with broad understanding of IT disciplines
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to evangelize nfrastructure's security program internally and externally
Strong organizational skills and an entrepreneurial drive
5-10 Years of increasing experience in the Business Intelligence field
