Staff Relationship:
Reports to Senior Marketing Manager

What You’ll be Doing:
TechSmith’s Business Intelligence and Reporting Analyst is responsible for transforming disparate data and reporting needs into a cohesive reporting vision and strategy. This individual will be a team player who can work with many different roles across the organization to determine and implement the best solutions for report design and conduct data analysis. Teamwork, strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to lead projects are critical skills in this role.

Proactively look for market trends, analyze data and share findings and opportunities with stakeholders as conclusions are made

Dynamically identify data that will help TechSmith learn from our efforts as needs change

Initiate a team to determine potential holes in data and reporting and make recommendations to address concerns

Write and run SQL queries against various databases to get accurate data as needed

Create, maintain and continuously improve monthly sales spreadsheet, marketing dashboard and reports

Work with Marketing, Sales, Web Presence, IT, Engineering/Development to ensure data integrity and reporting system reliability

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders on complex projects

Work constructively as part of many teams

Define and document processes, best practices, and strategies for reports and dashboard

Required Skills and Background:
Bachelor Degree required

3-5 years professional working experience with business requirements gathering, modeling, design and data analysis

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Demonstrated ability to independently determine the type and nature of analysis to be used to obtain the desired information or results, including data to be collected, analysis methods, presentation, and format and report structure

Google Analytics familiarity

Detail-oriented, a thoughtful and careful researcher

SQL proficiency and advanced user of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts, advanced formulas)

Team orientated

Must be resourceful, self-motivated, customer-focused and able to work on a team

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including written, verbal, listening, and negotiation

Ability to scope a project, recognize the critical project path and develop plans that will meet the stakeholders and departmental resource requirements

Ability to pay close attention to detail, while managing multiple projects

Comfortable prioritizing projects and tasks for self and others

Able to give and receive constructive criticism and positive feedback

Familiarity with all TechSmith products
