This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with members that translate into new business in addition to maintaining and also growing existing relationships. The position also provides education and advice that enables members to expand their business potential. It also ensures that products and services are delivered in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.


  • Consult with existing Business Members to identify needs, propose solutions to help meet those needs and identify other opportunities that may exist.
  • Identify potential Business Members in order to serve their needs and propose future business opportunities.
  • Develop partnerships with Branches that result in referrals and an enhanced member experience that addresses both the member’s business and personal needs.
  • Cross-sell a full range of business products and services.
  • Provide education and advice to members related to financial products and business plans.
  • Work with other departments and outside vendors to increase service delivery, efficiency and profitability as required.
  • Make lending recommendations according to policy in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare applicable lending packages in collaboration with credit analysts for senior leaders and the Business Services Loan Committee as needed.
  • Conduct reviews routinely of the existing loan portfolio to ensure safety and soundness of the loans and report to senior leaders.
  • Promote honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Work with other credit union departments to insure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Extensive knowledge of commercial lending products.
  • Background of knowledge in C&I, CRE and SBA.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations that govern lending and accounting practices.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong business development and community presence with exceptional service skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Must be able to be bonded.

    In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time. Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand for extended periods of time


    This position is expected to work in general office environment and will need to travel for visits to other credit union facilities or for training purposes frequently.


    Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance with at least five years of financial institution experience with a minimum of five years in business lending in a sales capacity and specifically with SBA expertise. Extensive experience may substitute for the degree.
