Responsible for the compliance of department policies and procedures, and for the supervision of the department personnel. Establishes goals and objectives for departments in compliance with hospital policy and JCHO standards; and the organizational structure for their achievement. Develops implements and evaluates policies and procedures for the departments in compliance with hospital policies. Calculates monthly cash goal and discuss it with comptroller. Ensures departments comply with mandatory standards as provided by JCHO as well as Federal, State and local regulations. Supervises the Admissions Department staff to ensure timely and accurate flow of information between admitting and patient accounting areas. Reviews and implements billing procedures for late charges. Prepares accounts receivables collection reports. Prepares quarterly B/D Allowance Report. Assist controller with monthly A/R Reports. Prepares department budget. Assesses staffing and scheduling practices for cost effectiveness.


• Master’s Degree preferable or Bachelor Degree in Accounting
• Experience in the management of Business Office in a hospital setting
• Knowledge in the management of contracts with private insurance companies, local reform, medicare, and other
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, principles of utilization review and codification
• Expertise with software programs such as Health Care Management System (HCMS)/Motinor, Inmediata, Excel, Access, Word and Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent supervision and management skills
• Availability to travel within and outside the Island
• Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
