General Purpose :
This leadership role/department is responsible for ensuring that all of the books and records for the business are maintained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assure that a complete accounting of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and cash management programs are maintained at all times. In the Business Office, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. You report directly to the Executive Director or the designated Business Office Manager. Primary Responsibilities:

Overall operation of the business office in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and established policies.

Collection of receivables, payment of payroll and oversight of accounts payable coding, along with month end closing information data for the home office. These duties will vary depending on size of the business office and their needs.

Review and recommend necessary changes to policies and procedures regarding content, processing, and confidentiality.

Maintain an excellent working relationship with other departments to ensure coordinated services and activities of the resident’s daily services can be performed without interruption.

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma

If applying for Business office Manager, 3 years experience in a business office required, billing experience in a health care/ long term care setting is preferred

If applying for a payroll position, prior training in payroll processing and work experience required

If applying for accounts payable, 1 year work experience in an office setting preferred

Must exhibit skills in effective communication, policies, education, community relations, and social services as they relate to senior health care

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, personnel, residents, family members, government agencies and the general public
