POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Vice President of Business Process Management, the Business Process Manager manages the implementation of key global process improvement initiatives in the Ocean Freight Forwarding (OFF) business unit of Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. The Business Process Analyst/Manager liaises with departmental managers to ensure that standardized business processes are followed identifies deviations and opportunities for enhancing efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Implement business process changes required to support global standard operational processes and systems. Develop process flows for all new business processes. Continuously monitor performance to ensure standard business processes are followed.
- Support, drive and coordinate the implementation of key global OFF business process management initiatives for the “Americas” region :
o Act as a primary point of contact within the “Americas” for key global process management initiatives in OFF.
o Communicate with Global HQ for operations and documentation process requirements in the “Americas”.
o May act as a project manager for the ‘Americas’ in the implementation on some initiatives.
o Support standardization and simplification of existing processes and ways of working. Review process flows with department managers and identify opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.
o Develop strong understanding of global OFF business processes as well as related supporting technology tools.
o Plan and deliver training programs on new business process improvement initiatives for the ‘origin’ offices.
- Provide process and operational support for OFF :
o Plan and deliver ongoing process training programs for new business improvement initiatives and current business processes based on defined needs.
o Prepare monthly and weekly operational and financial KPI’s, and follow up with Operations teams for continuous improvement in profit margins and product cost management
- Monitor operational efficiency for the OFF business unit:
o Report monthly and weekly operational and financial KPI to OFF management.
o Coordinate with accounting to resolve operational issues related to finance
o Interface with Accounting to ensure proper file closing process / execution
- Provide support to Accounting in settlement of overseas accounts:
o Support Operations and Accounting teams in investigating and analyzing point and cause of discrepancies with overseas companies.
o Develop business process improvement plan to improve accuracy of settlement data in operational stage.
o Investigate and resolve old outstanding settlements.
o Conduct audits as required
o Prepare monthly KPI for Americas region and report to management
- Lead organization in efforts for continuous process improvement across departments
Education and Experience: College Degree plus three to five years of business process analysis experience in international shipping or international logistics, specifically Ocean Freight Forwarding is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.
