This position is highly visible, working in the development and management of an efficient and effective corporate Business Risk Assessment, Internal Controls and Compliance function. Using their ingenuity, organizational skills, and knowledge of internal controls, business processes, auditing methodology and GAAP, this position will be responsible for the development and management of an ongoing process to assess, monitor and test business risks and controls in accordance with corporate objectives as set forth by senior management and the audit committee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the planning, development and communication of an ongoing, long-term risk assessment process to identify, monitor, measure and manage risk and related controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act Partner with business process owners to create/maintain required, narratives, key control matrices and any other documentation required to remain in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the entity-wide control environment and will assist management with the development of and/or revisions to policies and procedures as that environment changes. Responsible for the assessment and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls using a risk based audit methodology. Develop test plans, coordinate and perform testing of identified key internal controls. Work closely with business process owners to identify, analyze and assess internal control gaps and improvement opportunities. Follow up on internal control deficiencies and monitor remediation actions to ensure they are enacted in a timely manner. Participate in development and facilitation of management educational programs related to risk, control, financial rules & regulations. Responsible for ensuring development and monitoring of the Company's compliance program with various anti-bribery regulations, including but not limited to the UK Bribery Act and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. , Communicate upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions. Prepare and manage quarterly sub-certification of controls in support of Sarbanes-Oxley section 302 requirements. Provide support to various new financial/business initiatives. Prepare reports to Audit committee and Management at various points throughout the year.
QUALIFICATIONS Ability to manage the business risks and internal controls function. Familiarity with the UK Bribery Act and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ability to review and appraise the effectiveness of operating and financial processes. Able to prioritize issues for materiality and level of risk. Self-starter, able to work independently, with creativity and sound judgment. Team player, able to interact with all levels of management and staff. Proficient understanding of auditing methodology, work paper documentation and project management techniques. Highly organized with professional attention to detail and work quality. Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. BS in Accounting or Finance. 5 years of public accounting audit experience or equivalent public/internal control concepts. Strong knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, COSO and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Standards CPA/CIA certification preferred. Global experience a plus
