Provides positive customer interface, obtains and enters in computer all information needed for patients seen in the Clinic to ensure accurate billing.
Create a patient friendly environment
Greets visitors and patients to determine their needs and directs them accordingly
Scan front and back of insurance card and drivers license
Verify and update insurance information and demographics
Checks insurance eligibility
Determines and reviews financial responsibilities and insurance coverage through patients
Collects copay, coinsurance or other balances owed on account
Prints billing slip for physician to mark services performed
Schedules follow-up appointments
Cancels patient appointments that do not show with a cancel reason of “no show”
Creates appointment reminders
Enters charges same day of service
Codes diagnosis
Posts payments same day of receipt
Reconciles payments daily
Ensures that claims are in drop status at charge entry
Works hold bucket for any claims that do not have drop status
Maintains cash drawer for making change and balances it daily
Verifies that all billing slips are marked and turned in at the end of day
Print appropriate registration forms from medical record system for future appointments
Obtains precertification for surgery, workers comp, physical therapy, MRI and DME
Performs other related tasks as requested by the Business Services Coordinator, Business Office Manager, Clinic Manager, Administration or Physician to ensure the smooth operation of the Clinic.
This is a full time position at the Collierville Clinic.
