The Business Systems Analyst provides advanced-level analysis and day to day support for all Business Services applications in a complex healthcare industry. These systems include, but not limited to systems that support: patient accounting; billing; collections and finance. The Business Systems Analyst will have a working knowledge of data base queries, electronic payment and remittance advice processing.
Business Systems Analyst will be expected to apply analysis of business systems and automatic data processing solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes for both current and future business needs.
Ø A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
Ø Minimum 2 years of Patient Accounting experience within the last 5 years in an acute care setting, preferably in a multi-hospital environment.
Ø Must have strong analytical skills and problem-solving techniques.
Ø Strong technical skills: strong understanding of hardware and platforms
Ø Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically with MS Excel (with formulas, pivot tables, ODBC, VBA etc), MS Word, MS Access, relational database technology. Expertise with query languages such as SQL, database management, manipulating large datasets, write report generation tools including system report writers.
Ø Must possess strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and able to resolve systems issues.
Ø Ability to work with complex data sets, recognizes inconsistencies with detailed data and research appropriate resolutions.
Ø Continually seeks to improve technical skills as they relate to all supported areas of the department and keeping up to date on industry standards and evolving technology.
Ø Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
Ø Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of hospital employees in systematic problem solving and innovative thinking; attention to detail; g enerates detailed reports that are both deadline driven and require a high level of accuracy ; customer focus and excellent communication; and a tolerance for ambiguity, changing priorities and unexpected events.
Ø Knowledge of any of the following product is a plus: Meditech, MedSeries4, Cirius, Monarch and MacroExpress.
