Act as strategic partner with customers and users.
Able to tailor communication to audience level
Able to respectfully challenge customers to think about different options – comfortable providing them with options rather than just perform what they request.
Work to understand changing business needs and how technology can assist.
Provide frequent status updates on projects.
Work with software vendors on integration design, system implementations, and coordinating projects
Assist in design, setup, and documenting application configurations
Participate in technical design sessions, working with technical resources, to provide insight during solution development
Management of small to mid-size project including coordination of multiple technical resources and vendors, and escalation of concerns or roadblocks to leadership team
Use formal project management tools for new applications/projects.
Look for optimization of business process
Be forward-thinking and identify gaps of requests customers want today and how that may impact future decisions
Connect customer to impacts of decisions – Don’t be an order-taker, help them find the best solution
Gather detailed requirements and translate business needs for the developer
Good communication as it relates to more of an agile process – bridge between the customer and developer
Work with customer documenting “to be” processes
Drive vendor design and execution
Provide ad hoc data queries or reports to the business or analysis
Work Experience/ Skills Required
5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst
Strong customer focus skills to work with users on defining needs, addressing issues and answering questions
Strong prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain several concurrent projects while providing realistic delivery dates and managing customer expectations
Strong ownership and accountability skills
Strong initiative and self-starter to work on projects with limited management oversight
Experience leading and collaborating on projects in a team environment
Experience developing test plans and scenarios
Experience working with reporting technologies
Strong conceptual, analytical critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Proven experience working with complex systems and the solution development life cycle
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Experience authoring detailed business requirement and technical specification documents
Experience with use case development and testing coordination
Process development and documentation experience
Work Experience/ Skills Preferred
Experience with SharePoint and other web technologies.
Experience applying operational excellence methodologies through an industry standard method such as Lean Six Sigma.
Experience working and leading larger ERP applications and projects
Bachelor of Science degree – MIS, CIS or CS or Business related degree; or 5+ years’ equivalent IT Business Analyst experience.
