Reporting to the Assistant Director, Finance & Administration. Working with Senior Systems Engineer the incumbent will assist in the development of the EI Portal on SharePoint, including expanding EI's SharePoint platform where it relates to external communications with Department Administrators and the sharing of EI's SOPs and will assist in creating and updating sites to facilitate communication with the administrators. The incumbent will meet with Centers to consult on their project needs including the growth of workflows and team sites on the Portal. The incumbent will also be responsible for the development of branding on the Portal including work with PhotoShop. The Business Systems Engineer will work with the Senior Engineer on Infrastructure Support, e.g. virtual machines, application servers, and database servers. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing assistance in many areas of the department, especially the Finance team; will communicate with administrators in other departments to support the work of the Finance & Administration team; as well as support Finance & Administration staff in the creation of content and preparation for the Monthly Earth Institute (EI) Administrator's Meeting. The incumbent will also be responsible for drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Finance & Administration team. The Business Systems Engineer will be responsible for the all other duties assigned by the Assistant Director, Finance & Administration.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 2 years related experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills required. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work autonomously under pressure of deadlines required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at Columbia University, specifically working with the University's financial systems. Experience working in SharePoint.
