Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., occasional night and weekend work required during critical periods.

The Business and Technology Applications Analyst provides technical leadership and consultation to administrative users in support of the university's Enterprise Resource System (Ellucian's Banner System) and ancillary systems. The BTAA analyzes and implements new applications, interfaces, system enhancements, workflows and supports new technologies that improve the delivery of administrative services to students, faculty and staff. This position will work with users and other ITS staff members in the maintenance and support of database software, complex reporting, SQL scripting, and automating processes associated with administrative applications utilized throughout the university.
Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree with nine credit hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree. Preferred qualifications include experience using: SQL PLUS, PL/SQL; Oracle 11g; complex database reporting solutions; Java, C, Perl, AJAX, PHP, or .NET and familiarity with unix and Web Services.
Preference will be given to those candidates:
* With experience working in a higher education environment
* Who demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical personnel (including writing clear documentation)
* Have the ability to work as a team member and exhibit the ability to advance technical skills
* A proven ability to analyze user department needs, make proactive recommendations to improve existing processes and identify where technology changes may create opportunities for user departments
* with several years of experience with Ellucian Banner and knowledge of underlying structure
* with experience writing complex reports in WebFocus
* with knowledge and experience in supporting finance related applications.

Technical Solution Development:
Devises or modifies applications to solve moderately complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations. Supports technology applications by exploring and adapting to changing technologies.
Resolves routine and some non-routine problems. Spots trends in reoccurring problems and takes action to prevent future occurrences. Makes suggestions for technical modifications to prevent future problems.
Builds on-going partnerships with clients. Works with client to discuss alternative technical solutions. Consults with senior level decision-makers to discuss alternative technical solutions. Consults with clients and higher-level technicians and analysts to resolve technical problems and ensure client satisfaction.
