Summary:
The Buyer II will effectively manage and develop third party contract manufacturers involved in complex raw materials in collaboration with key internal clients to meet budget guidelines and goals set by top management.

Essential Functions:
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to:
•Lead commodity specific cost management contract negotiations, development, and enforcement
•Evaluate new and existing suppliers
•Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies for assigned categories
•Developing list of potential manufacturing sources / ramp up / launch options
•Complete competitive supplier analysis to confirm they are in good standing and if others can do the same thing.
•Identify supply chain bottlenecks, supplier assessment for capabilities (volume expectations / MOQ / scale up) and stability
•Complete commercialization assessment, material cost, supply availability, supplier agreement
•Consider and put in place secondary materials and suppliers
•Issue POs, MTRs, coordinate with Accounts Payables on outstanding invoices,
•Maintaining daily communication with suppliers for deliveries, inventory management, change orders, availability

•Raw Material suppliers
•Potential suppliers
•Third Party Contract Manufacturers
•International Customs House Brokers

Accountability:
Directly accountable to the Senior Procurement Manager
Indirectly to Vice President of Operations

Qualifications and Guidelines:
Experience/Training/Education
•5 years related experience / training / education
•2 years college and / or equivalent
•Background in procurement, manufacturing and project management
•Continuing education focused on CPIM, C.P.M., CPSM curriculum

Knowledge Of:
•Effective negotiating skills
•MRPII systems and processes
•Supply chain management and supplier partnering techniques
•Formal quality systems
•Effective inventory planning and scheduling techniques

Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
•Excellent mathematical skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal and outside personnel at all levels
