Rico is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a full time position we have open for a Buyer. The successful candidate will purchase goods and services at all levels. Including raw materials, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of the manufacturing environment.

Job Functions:
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventories.
Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine needs for changes.
Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain.
Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost or quality.
Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste or optimize customer services.
Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors.
Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.
2-5 years of related experience.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and production methods.
Complex problem solving.
Prior experience with MRP system.
Strong communication skills oral and written expression.
